Red-Hot Cat Tail 1 litre plant
This is a very attractive tropical shrub with its bright green toothed leaves toothed and long, hairy tail like crimson drooping red flower clusters. Capable of reaching a height of 2 meters careful pinching and pruning may be necessary to keep Acalypha Hispida from becoming too tall and untidy. The red flowers can reach up to 10-50cm long. It requires bright light, well drained soil and warm conditions. Dead flowers should be removed and watering should be minimal in winter and spider mite can be a problem without control.

Queen’s Tears 1 litre plant җ
A lovely leaf variegated pink/green/white form of Billbergia nutans that makes a good conservatory plant and is also happy as a houseplant where it can live on a windowsill for years. It is often listed in magazines as one of the top ten houseplants that can tolerate almost total neglect. It is a bromeliad, related to the pineapple requiring a well drained, gritty soil. Water only when really necessary and feed only occasionally. Grown in full sun, the foliage loses some of its lustre but produces copious amounts of exotic pink flower spikes.

Cabbage Tree (Very Rare) 3 litre Plants

This unusual plant comes from a small, isolated group of islands 400 miles off the coast of Chile with temperatures typically 10C to 25C.  At one point there were only 3 plants left in the late 1980s, and today it is still critically endangered.  It is usually only found in botanical gardens, making it one of the rarest plants in cultivation. If you can provide the right conditions, it will be an exciting plant to grow.

It is an evergreen, perennial species in the daisy and sunflower family.  It's unusual in that it has woody, tree-like stems, and rubbery, tennis racket-sized edible leaves (hence the common name) up to 18" long. It grows to about 6ft if pot grown in cool conservatory or greenhouse conditions kept frost free.

Pink Ball Shrub large 1 litre plants

Dombeya is a spectacularly large shrub with large heart-shaped leaves and dense heads of little pink flowers which hang from foot long stems. The plant is native to Madagascar, but widely grown as a large garden shrub in Florida. Not at all frost hardy but ok for a cool conservatory. Can be pruned after flowering in mid summer to keep to a sensible size but best in a large conservatory where it will create a dramatic impression. (We had a 10 litre stock plants in bud around November flowering in March at 4ft tall from a late spring pruning.)

Epiphyllum Oxypetalum

Queen of the Night 1 litre plants
An easily cultivated, fast growing epiphyte. Needs compost containing plenty of humus and sufficient moisture in summer. Should not be kept under 10ºC (50ºF) in winter. Can be grown in semi-shade but not full sun, extra light in the early spring will stimulate budding. Flowers in late spring or early summer and large specimens can produce several crops of flowers in a season. The blooms are stunning 12" wide strongly fragrant and pure white. Each bud only opens for one night though and usually after 7pm, and it is really frustrating if you miss it! This epiphyllum like plant can reach tree like proportions sending out 4ft glossy green shoots that are tougher than they look. Why we do not sell it is that slugs simply love the new growth and I gave up trying to produce "clean" plants, but if you do not mind the odd nibbled leaf we are happy to supply this rare and fabulous plant.

Gardenia thunbergia

JP2491
!
Wild Gardenia 1 litre plants
This is a slow growing evergreen shrub or small tree to 1m or 2m if pot grown. It is hardier than the common pot grown plant down to frost level for brief periods and suitable for unheated conservatories. The leaves are carried in whorls of 3 or 4 crowded near the ends of the branchlets and the flowers are large, showy, creamy white and heavily perfumed, particularly at night. It may take a few years before large enough to flower!

Hibiscus mutabalis

JP2823
!
Confederate Rose or Cotton Rosemallow 1 litre Plants
A large shrub or small multistemmed tree that grows to 15 ft in a warm climate and a native of China. Hibiscus mutabilis will need a warm glasshouse in the UK to over winter but is spectacular when in full bloom starting in late summer and on into autumn. The flowers open pure white and change colour over a three-day period until they are deep pink. The most notable characteristic of this flowering shrub is that flowers of three distinct colours appear on the bush simultaneously as the blooms colour cycle independent of one another. There is always great demand in USA garden centers for the Confederate Rose when it is in full bloom, for it is one of the most imposing and unusual of flowering trees.

Fringed Hibiscus 1 litre plants
One look at the fringed hibiscus, and it’s easy to see why the shrub is so popular across the world. It’s unique weeping flowers set it apart from other hibiscus varieties. The gorgeous pink and red pendent flowers make it very popular as a pot plant. Growing naturally to more than eight feet tall, the plant can be pruned and trained but it needs a very warm environment to survive our winters.
